Session 16: It's all about connection - attachment theory in action

This sessions is delivered by our guest facilitator Jo McAndrews. Jo is an expert in the neuroscience of child development. She shares some really important building blocks for child development. This can influence our parenting, and our work with parents. It also influences what we share with parents so that they can support their children more effectively. It can also be useful when we explore inner child healing, which we will explore in a later session.

The session focuses on:

  • What is attachment?
  • The neurobiology of connection – how children depend on their adults for more than survival
  • How attachment needs shape behaviour
  • Neurodivergence
  • Attachment styles
  • What gets in the way of secure attachment
  • Key skills for attachment aware parenting

Jo joins us for a live session on our Tuesday evening session so you can explore this topic in more detail with her directly.
